SARAH WHITNEY

Praised by The Washington Post for her “marvelous violin acrobatics,” Sarah is known for being a fierce trailblazer in the classical music world. Recognized as a successful performer, speaker, artistic director and Success Coach for Musicians, Sarah is on a mission to empower musicians and bring fresh new ideas to classical music. Sarah is former founding member of the NYC-based string quintet SYBARITE5, the 1st string quintet to win the Concert Artist Guild Competition and who had 3 albums reach the top 10 on the Billboard Charts. She is also the artistic director and founder of Beyond the Notes, an innovative concert series that breaks down the boundaries between the audience and the performers. She is currently on faculty at the Longy School of Music and frequently lectures and teaches guest classes about music entrepreneurship at universities and conservatories around the world. Sarah is currently working on a project to expand the repertoire for violin and loop pedal and she loves exploring all of the unconventional ways a solo violin can be represented.
