SOCIAL EQUITY STATEMENT

Common Tone Arts  is committed to actively tearing down racism, sexism, and economic inequalities in the art we make, the people we work with, and the spaces we occupy with the aim to reflect our values of diversity and inclusion.

TERMS OF SERVICE

By participating in any of the functions, services, or activities of Common Tone Arts 501(c)(3) or an of our programs, you are herby agreeing to our uphold our mission statement and adhere to the above Statements of Social Equity, Harassment, Conflict of Interest, and Privacy.

HARASSMENT AND INCLUSION POLICY

Common Tone Arts is committed to a work environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. Each individual has the right to work in a professional atmosphere that promotes equal opportunity and prohibits discriminatory practices, including harassment. Therefore, CTA expects that all relationships among persons in the workplace will be business-like and free of bias, prejudice, discrimination, and harassment. In order to keep this commitment, CTA maintains a strict policy of prohibiting unlawful harassment of any kind, including sexual harassment and harassment based on race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, sex, age, physical or mental disability or any other characteristic protected by state, federal or local employment discrimination laws. This policy applies to all employer agents and employees, including supervisors and non-supervisory staff. Further, this policy extends to all of CTA’s partners, affiliations, and work within the community.

PRIVACY POLICY

In performing their duties, Common Tone Arts staff, board members, and volunteers are privy to information about individuals and families, such as giving history, assets, wealth, and family relationships. This is especially true for staff, board members and volunteers involved in fundraising and development activities. Due to the sensitivity of this information, it is important that all Common Tone Arts staff, board members and volunteers adhere to the policy that information shared with them remains confidential, is not discussed with others in private or public settings and is not disclosed or used for any other purposes. All information concerning donors or prospective donors, including their names, addresses and telephone numbers, the names of their beneficiaries, the amount of their gift, etc., shall be kept strictly confidential by Common Tone Arts, its board, staff, and volunteers, unless permission is obtained from donors to release such information.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY

Board members for Common Tone Arts are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest to the Executive Committee and the Executive Director. As such, they may be asked to abstain from voting on certain issues or in extreme cases, be asked to recuse themselves from the Board of Directors.
