ROBERT MITCHELL
CITY OF SANCTUARY is a second collection of poems and lyrics from award-winning pianist, keyboard player, composer, songwriter, teacher and writer Robert Mitchell. Robert has released 13 albums. Robert recently performed at the 6th European Poetry Biennale (Brasov, Romania) - both narrating and solo piano. He is proud to be a Steinway Artist and a Roland Artist, and has performed with Courtney Pine, the Bournemouth Symphony Chorus, Steve Coleman, Basement Jaxx, Billy Harper, Alicia Olatuja, Omar Puente, Jhelisa Anderson, Julien Lourau, Norma Winstone, Phil Ranelin, Orphy Robinson, Daymé Arocena and Soweto Kinch amongst many. He was Musical Director on the award-winning BBC4 TV programme ‘Jazz 625: Live For One Night Only’ (Best Music Programme Broadcast Awards 2020). He performs solo and leads the groups Panacea, Epiphany3 and the newest addition - TRUE THINK. Robert is a Jazz Piano Professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and a principal lecturer at Leeds Conservatoire. Robert is a Task Force Member and Mentor for Black Lives In Music (UK) and sits on the MusicHE Committee. He is published by Bucks Music Group Ltd. He is very proud to have been working with the brilliant organisation Outward Visions for a decade.
