A collaboration with The Northwest Edvard Grieg Society and The Sound Ensemble, directed by Bobby Collins, presenting works by Norwegian composers reinventing old traditions into new creations.
The central work of this program is Edvard Grieg’s Holberg Suite. Also featured will be US premieres by Anne Marie Ørbeck, Agnes Ida Pettersen, Anna Berg, and a brand-new commission by NWEGS composer-in-residence, Steven Luksan. Festival of Contemporary Art Music
TORCH is the Artist’s In-residence for this year’s FOCAM festival at Washington State University! We will be performing three concerts of original music - PLUS premiering new pieces students and professionals have written. Bring an instrument to join us on Saturday!
120 DAY CHALLENGE
The vision for this program is to use design principles to explore ideas and develop an artistic project from conception to delivery. Through support, coaching, mentorship, and a cohort of dynamic musicians, we will walk together in our journey to create inspiring, meaningful, and potentially life-changing work. Further, this is a fully-funded program to demonstrate the transformative power of artistic creation.
